Rock Solid aims to develop local tech talent

A Puerto Rican technology firm, Rock Solid Technologies, is awarding a grant and internship program to students in the University of Puerto Rico system (UPR) studying information systems, computer sciences, accounting, computer engineering and software engineering.
 
Rock Solid’s grant consists of a prize of $1,500.00 and the opportunity to have work experience during the summer, dealing directly in the development of information systems projects for the firm's customers, in Puerto Rico and the United States, Central America and the Caribbean.
 
"The technology industry is one of the fastest growing in the world, and in Puerto Rico we need to continue to develop local talent. Our commitment to this young talent is to expose them to real experiences that help them develop a true picture of the field beyond the classroom”, said Ángel Pérez Galarza, vice president of Rock Solid Technologies.
 
Those interested in applying for the Rock Solid Grant 2017 have until November 30 to send the application by mail. They must use their creativity and, once completed the mail process, send evidence of it through a video or photo that says “#YoSoyTalentoLocal” to careers@rocksolid.com.
 
Through the website www.RockSolid.com students can see all eligibility requirements.
 
Among the requirements to apply for the scholarship are:
 
● Full-time UPR student
● Being in their third, fourth or fifth year of college
● Grade point average of 3.00 or more
● Studying in areas of information systems, computer sciences, accounting, computer engineering or software engineering.
 
Once again, Rock Solid reaffirms their commitment to the university community in the country by providing uninterruptedly for more than a decade the Rock Solid Grant and offering summer internships.
